Emergency/critical care

Emergency care is for pets that need to be seen by a veterinarian for a life-threatening or serious illness or injury.

Emergency care visits do NOT need an appointment. If possible, please call us in advance at 949-653-9300 so we can prepare for your arrival and give you an approximate wait time.

Working alongside our team is our surgical department, Veterinary Surgical Specialists of Orange County, the largest and most experienced group of board-certified veterinary surgeons in the region.

Both AVSG and VSSOC are members of Veritas Veterinary Partners, a group of some of the finest emergency and specialty practices in the country.

My puppy had an ear infection and our vet was unable to get us in for a few days so we found this urgent care. The staff was incredibly welcoming, professional and attentive, both on the phone and as I waited in the tented area out front. When the vet came out to talk to me, he was warm and completely unrushed, explaining to me the treatment as well as possible causes and an inexpensive preventative measure I was completely unaware of. It did end up taking about an hour and a half but it was overall a better experience than my highly recommended vet – and $20 cheaper for the same problem. Highly recommend!
